Frequently Asked Questions

How do you create your pieces?

My process begins with pencil drawings to map out my ideas and concepts. I then use a combination of saws, carving tools and sanders to bring my ideas to life with wood. I strive to use non-toxic, biodegradable paints, stains and wood finishes to bring colour and more life to some of my creations - others I leave in their natural wood tones.

What custom pieces can I order?

The possibilities for what I can create are (almost) endless. Please visit my Gallery to view some of my past custom creations. If you have an idea but don't see anything like it on my site, please still reach out and let's get creative together! Some projects I have worked on or would love to work on include:

  • Custom name/ logo signs
  • Personalized wooden art ( pick a theme for your piece!)
  • Decorative puzzles
  • Custom clocks
  • Coasters
  • Custom photo/mirror frames
  • Furniture accents
    • Decorative inlay on cupboards/dressers
  • Custom furniture
  • Personalized music racks & accessories
  • Custom beer taps
  • Reuseable Christmas calendars & oranments
  • Trinket/treausure boxes

What type of wood do you use?

I work with a variety of wood types including cedar, pine, birch, maple, poplar, mahogany, padauk, fir and oak. I strive to use untreated, recycled wood and thifted scraps/off-cuts whenever possible so wood types may vary. I am able to order specific wood types if requested for a custom project.

How long does it take to create a piece?

It all depends on the type, size and intricacy of the piece! It can take me anywhere from several hours to a few days or weeks. If a piece needs a protective coating, it takes an additional 10 days before the piece will be dry enough for shipping. There are some pieces available for purchase from my Store that are already made and ready to be shipped. Custom orders will recieve a time quote upon inquiry. Please consider that most custom pieces require a new drawing and design idea and this will take a bit longer as well.

What paint/stain do you use?

I have decided to work primarily with products from The Real Milk Paint Co. because they are non-toxic, biodegradable and child-safe. You can read more about their products by visiting their website. However, I do infrequently use some traditional wood stains (low VOC). If you have a preference, please make a note when placing a custom order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Shipping costs are estimated at checkout. Regular and priority options are available for both domestic and international orders. Please make your delivery selection during checkout.
